Meet Adoptable Charlie and Peso!
Charlie and Peso are two very bonded senior small breed dogs that are looking for a new forever home. These two bonded little ones would be perfect for a retired person looking for some companionship and light exercise.
Here are some words from their previous owners:
Breed: Yorkie mix
Charlie is a high energy, high needs dog. Loves lots of affection and pets. Likes to go on walks and is okay at off leash parks. He loves to eat and he loves to smell and explore everything in sight. He is the kind of dog that always has to be at your side or a short distance away.
Leash manners are decent but he does have a tendency to pull, better on hikes or off leash trails.
He doesn’t like puppies, mostly because their energy exceeds his. He doesn’t like being separated from his companion and gets anxious but can usually be left at home alone has been for 8+ hours is the passed, gets anxious in cars in fear that he will be left alone.
He has a small torn ACL, not in pain or discomfort. He walks normally around the house but usually puts his hind leg up on walks, when exploring or moving at an elevated pace, has not changed his demeanor or activeness. He had all but 3 teeth removed as of last year. He listens but isn’t the most well behaved that is to say he understands what you’re saying but he has his own mind and it usually takes several commands before he decides he’s going to obey if at all. He is house broken but most recently some of the top issues we’ve been experiencing are with his house training, we believe it is less a matter of not knowing and more a matter of being upset with his current circumstances. He really is a one on one dog or a family that can give all there attention. He does like to eat any table scraps and will be at your feet a lot. He is neutered.
Currently we feed dry kibble and soften it with hot water then let it cool , once a day and both dogs graze from each others bowls.
Age: unknown approx 8
Peso is the polar opposite of Charlie. He is very low energy, very chill, but also very cuddly. He is fairly independent and equally content to be with you or in another room. He doesn’t require a lot of attention but loves it if you give it to him. He is a sun worshiper and we predict a little hard of hearing
He isn’t very receptive of other dogs, whether it’s the fact he doesn’t know how to act or the fact he used to live on the streets he’s a fairly scrappy little guy who also doesn’t care for puppy energy. He is quite slow on walks and his arched shape leads us to believe he could have the onset of arthritis. He is a grazer when it comes to eating and likes to get outside, but doesn’t want to go for a huge walk,
just little strolls. He to is house broken but breaks the rules for one reason or another every now and then, or due to his current circumstances. Also neutered.
We feel in right hands both dogs could live out the rest of there lives as better dogs , and be happier overall, it is important the dogs stay together so the transition to a new home can be as smooth as possible.
