Meet Adoptable Daisy!
Daisy is a 2-3 year old, female, tri-colour, 55-60lb, Terrier, mixed breed. Daisy is a super sweet girl that came to us from Northern Saskatchewan three weeks ago.
Here are some words by her foster Moms:
Daisy is just the sweetest ball of love!! She loves belly rubs and cuddles and is happy almost all the time. She is generally very chill, but will get playful from time to time and loves playing tug-o-war with her chew toy. She loves pretty much all humans and is very trusting right away. We are unsure how she is around kids – when she first arrived, she was frightened of many noises including children screaming or crying. We have seen kids calmly pet her with no issues, but we are unsure overall.
When she first arrived from Saskatchewan she was very afraid of other dogs, but with some positive reinforcement she now happily walks by them, though still somewhat wary (e.g. sometimes raised hair on her back, quiet growl if they get close, she may try to lunge towards small dogs if they come up to her off leash). We haven’t been able to socialize her much because she is not spayed just yet, but we believe she wants to be friendly and has gotten better, she just doesn’t have the social skills yet. She will soon though.
Daisy is very treat motivated and has already learned how to sit and shake a paw (when there aren’t distractions)! She is very good in the home, sleeps through the night happily (doesn’t need to be in her crate), and has never chewed anything. She is good in her crate, and has some separation anxiety when we leave her alone which has gotten better over time but still needs some work. In 3 weeks she has only barked twice and is generally just very quiet and sweet.
She loves walks and seems like she would be a good hiker too. She can be a little stubborn and will occasionally flop down or pull towards a squirrel/cat/particularly delicious looking pizza crust, but can always be redirected with treats and patience.
Everything here on the west coast is new to her but she is settling in so well and even went camping with us and did really well!! She would do best in a house with folks who are around a lot, who can give her lots of love and belly rubs. Anyone would be so lucky to have her!
(PS. Daisy will be spayed soon and then can be adopted. We are just getting the ball rolling for her forever home).
