The Story of Meeka 🩷🐾
One day I got a call that a dog was in really bad condition and needed immediate emergency veterinary care. We had her rushed to WAVES Emergency Veterinary Hospital. When we arrived to see her, we never expected to see this! What were we even looking at!? We were all in complete shock! @raincoastdogrescue
She was immediately seen for medical treatment, as we tried to figure out what was going on. There were a couple theories given by the veterinary specialists. This could be Necrotizing Fasciitis (flesh eating disease) and Bacterial Pyoderma.
We knew whatever it was, she was very lucky that we got her in that night before it was too late. This sweet girl was truly fighting for her life!
The amazing veterinary team at WAVES were able to stabilize her; and start emergency treatment. They did a great job! She was eventually sent home with a very thorough medical treatment plan, and a strict diet.
After a very nervous week of her being in critical condition, she started to make a progressive recovery. This took 5-6 months for her to fully recover, and since then she has been thriving in her new life of comfortability, good health and environment, and a strict diet.
