Adoptable Coco

Meet Adoptable Coco!

Coco is a female, 2.5 year old, 85lb, black with white trim, St.Bernard, Labrador, and Golden Retriever. Coco is currently being fostered in Sidney / Greater Victoria.

Coco is a just a big and goofy love bug, that is just about the sweetest and most loving soul you will ever meet. She’s very relaxed and just loves to have your affection and attention. She will use her big self gently and in the cutest way, to remind you she isn’t getting enough attention. Head on your lap with the loving eyes staring up at you, head on your computer keyboard to stop you from working, and trying to get into your lap when there is clearly no room. Coco loves to lay around inside and outside and just enjoy the fresh air, peace and quiet, but also likes her simple walks with all the sniffs, and then she just wants to go home and lay back down with you.

Coco has been working on her socialization skills as well. She is great with people, and will win over their hearts and minds with her soft and sweet attitude. When it comes to her with dogs, she has met a few dogs and been very nice and relaxed; and then there has been a few dogs she has seen and reacted to. We think this is more excitement than anything else, and she just needs to learn how to stay relaxed when seeing or meeting other dogs to become more accustomed to socialization. This all comes in time with training, as Coco was an outdoor yard dog her whole life with her mate, and she was forced to have puppies out there as well, before we rescued her.

Inside the home Coco is quite relaxed and easy going, and can be left alone for a few hours or more and does just fine. Now, after a few hours, she has been a bit mischievous before and got into some yarn and papers, but with very little damage or mess that came of it. She’s honestly just a big sucky and loving goofball that is so loving.

Coco would do best in a home that likes to give their dogs lots of attention and affection, and has a lot of time to be with them. Maybe with no other dogs or cats to start. She did live with another male dog for years and did fine, so she could probably live with another dog in the right situation. We are not sure how she would do around young kids yet, but we suspect she would be good with respectful ones.
