Last year we rescued this beautiful girl and another dog from horrific living conditions, and their extremely poor physical conditions as well that came along with that. Living on a short chain attached to a porch, surrounded by massive amounts of garbage and left to die. She could not even lay down or properly sit up, that’s how short the chain was. The owner said they were just going to “let the dog die and then we were going to bury the dog in our yard”.
No words! Absolutely NOT! We definitely weren’t going to let that happen! Our team immediately jumped into action with the help of local bylaw officers and we seized the dogs and rushed them to @wavesvethospital emergency. We truly did not know if Luna and the other dog were going to make it. After days in emergency they were discharged on a day to day basis, while we all prayed for their survival and full recovery. Well, as dogs do so well, they kept fighting and never gave up, and with the amazing love and support of their fosters, our RainCoast team, and the amazing staff at the emergency vet, and all of you; today Luna and the other dog have made a full recovery and are living their best lives!
Another story for the books. Every dog deserves a chance at a life of love and longevity surrounded by compassion, attention, and affection.
