Meet Adoptable Odin!
Odin is a 3 year old, male, black with white trim, 8-10lb, Chihuahua x Boston Terrier.
Odin comes to us from Vancouver Island and is a sweet and loving doggo, but he has recently really struggled with sharing his home with another dog that he has known and lived with for years. The family has tried all sorts of training and medications to try and help him, but nothing seems to be working. Unfortunately, the incidents are becoming even more frequent and dangerous. Odin would be the perfect dog for an only dog home with no kids, and lots of love and cuddles to be given. Here is some more information from the owners.
Words from his owners: Odin loves snugging, playing fetch, running with the dogs at the dog park. He’s had all his shots and non sedative dentistry so he is in perfect health. Over the last couple years there’s been some sleep startle incidents where if he was woken abruptly – even just Sandy repositioning herself in bed or me reaching down to pet him, he would go to attack. We stopped allowing him to sleep in bed and crate trained him with a soft crate. Over the last 3 months things have intensified to the point that we cannot have him and my older dog in the same room. He locks eyes with her and immediately goes full on attack mode. There’s rooms that she can now no longer enter without him lunging at her neck. She can’t sit on my lap in his eyesight or he attacks. He is very well trained, knows all his commands and really is the bestest boy, he just clearly cannot coexist with another dog at this point. We’ve really tried everything from training to medication, since he’s turned 3 it has went from 1 to 100. It has been heartbreaking for our family. We know this is the right thing to do by finding him a new home, but it’s is so hard to have to accept this as the reality and what’s best for him.
Odie is a 3-year-old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix, up to date on all his vaccinations and in good health. He’s the bestest boy — an affectionate, active and hilarious little shadow who loves his people deeply. ♥️
He LOVES fetch, daily walks and being a master blanket snuggler. He knows sit, stay, lay down, break, place and high five, has good recall and is fully potty trained and crate trained. His hilarious signal that he needs a poop is often becoming suspiciously affectionate with face kisses! He’s even a dream with medication and will happily take tablets straight from your hand.
Odie has grown up with someone working from home and enjoys joining the occasional Zoom meeting, but he’s equally happy taking himself off for a snooze and can be left alone when you’re out. He’s not a huge car fan and starts walks enthusiastically before quickly settling down.
His perfect day is breakfast, an hour of fetch at the park, a couple of shorter walks, some playtime (especially The Sock Game 🤣), then an evening lap snuggle before curling up behind your knees in bed.
Odie would thrive in an active, child-free, pet-free home, ideally with a secure yard.
He has been incredibly, incredibly loved. We’re looking for someone who will continue doing exactly that. ♥️🐾
